My Approach

I work within a client-centered framework, which means I aim to meet you where you're at and move at a pace that is comfortable for you. Through establishing a safe, non-judgmental environment, I acknowledge that you are the expert of your own experiences and my goal is to help you identify, develop and honour your inner strengths and resources. I approach psychotherapy from a feminist, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, harm-reduction, queer and trans affirmative, and sex positive framework which seeks to understand the unique intersections of your life and how these impact your experiences. 

 

I believe that a strong therapeutic alliance is key to successful outcomes in therapy - this is why I strive to facilitate an environment that is grounded in mutual respect, trust and authenticity.

 

I have training in a variety of therapeutic models, including: Mindfulness-Based practices, Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. I take an integrative approach and may pull from different therapeutic models throughout the course of therapy. Therapy is a unique and individual process and my approach is to adapt and frame that process around your individual goals and needs.
